Music Director
$30 - $33/hour, 10 hours/week, including Sunday morning worship services

Essential Functions
ï‚· Partners creatively with the Minister and other worship leaders to facilitate music ministry that:

Supports and integrates well with the other elements of the worship service

Integrates our youth, as well as our adults, into our music liturgy on a consistent basis

Is a motivated and approachable mentor for our volunteer musicians

Embraces interfaith, multicultural, anti-oppressive ideals while supporting individuals' spiritual and artistic development.
ï‚· Conducts and coordinates the music of the congregation:
-
Conducts the choir an average of two Sunday worship services each month from September through June, as well as the occasional special worship service (such as Christmas Eve),

Collaborates with accompanists.

Integrates other instrumentalists or soloists (including substitutes), whether paid or volunteer

Works in supervisory role with any musicians

Leads choir rehearsals twice a month from September through June.
ï‚· Strengthens our Evergreen community by:
-
Offering a variety of opportunities for participation among performers/contributors.
ï‚· Collaborates with the Minister, including rehearsal schedules, music selections, music licensing, budget, etc.
ï‚· Collaborates with Congregational Administrator to communicate music-related events.
Other Responsibilities:
ï‚· Although not required, we are open to candidates who might also like to serve as piano accompanist for Sunday services, for additional financial compensation.
ï‚· Engages professional development and collegial support by maintaining membership and participation in the Association Of Unitarian Universalist Music Ministries (and attending their annual conference, if possible). Utilizes and teaches music from the UU hymnal plus other
sources.
ï‚· Participates in staff meetings and one-on-one supervision meetings with the Minister to discuss goals, support needed, job performance, and other issues that arise.
